Arson Squad detectives have charged a 19 year man as a result of their investigation into two fires that occurred on Wednesday, 5 April 2017.
At around 9:15am, Police and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to a house fire on Coode Street Maylands. A short time later they were called to a second house fire on Seventh Avenue Inglewood, WA Police say.
It will be alleged the man entered the houses and set fire to various items within the homes. The damage to the homes is estimated in excess of $100,000.
The man from Maylands has been charged with:--
•Two counts of Burglary;
•Two counts of Criminal Damage by Fire and
•One count of Damaging Property by Graffiti.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 4 May 2017.
