Perth Detectives have charged a 45-year-old man as a result of their investigation into an incident that occurred on Monday 29 October 2018 at a housing unit on Claude Street, Burswood.
Around 4.30pm, it is alleged the man opened a gas canister and sprayed the gas around the bottom of the stairwell inside the building, WA Police say.
It is also alleged the man held a lighter in his hand and made verbals threats he would set the gas alight, setting fire to the occupants. Residents were able to barricade themselves upstairs inside the premises away from the man.
The man fled the area and was located by police the following day, Tuesday 30 October 2018.
Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after feeling unwell.
The 45-year-old man from Burswood has been charged with Act Endangering Life, Health or Safety of a Person.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 31 October 2018.
