Arrest after Operation Quebec Sturgeon launched in Townsville, QLD

A Vincent man has been arrested and charged overnight in relation to a string of serious criminal offences across Townsville yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Police established taskforce Operation Quebec Sturgeon comprising of Townsville Detectives, Rapid Action and Patrol Group, general duties officers, Tactical Crime Squad and the Dog Squad to identify and arrest those responsible.

The 18-year-old Vincent man has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and armed robbery, and one count each of attempted robbery, attempted fraud, enter premises and stealing.

He has been refused bail to reappear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on August 8.

Detectives executed a search warrant as part of their inquiries and seized a number of items.

Investigations are continuing.
