Arrest- Domestic violence - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to an aggravated assault in Palmerston overnight.

Around 9pm, Emergency Services received reports of a woman with multiple stab wounds to her back and a laceration to her ear at a carpark near the Palmerston Bus Exchange.

She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with her injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Police arrested her 21-year-old male partner a short time later after his return to the location.

He currently remains in custody and is expected to be charged later today.

Acting Sergeant Thomas Briggs said "Investigators would like to thank the witnesses that have already come forward to provide information and would urge anyone who witnessed the assault to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 2300004367."
