Arrest of man after assault in Beldon

Joondalup Detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into the assault of a person in Beldon on 1 January 2020.

It is alleged just before 2am, the man entered a service station located on Eddystone Avenue and jumped the front counter and assaulted a 30-year-old male staff member.

It is further alleged the man stole various food items before smashing through the front door and walking away.

The staff member received a fractured cheek bone, a broken nose and various facial lacerations and was conveyed by ambulance to the Joondalup Health Campus.

The 27-year-old man from Heathridge has been charged with:-

• Two counts of Stealing;

• Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm; and

• Criminal Damage.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on 17 January 2020.
