Assault occasioning bodily harm at Coolangatta

Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into an alleged assault at Coolangatta on December 9.

Around midnight, a 19-year-old Currumbin Waters man was standing with friends outside a Marine Parade establishment, when two men – who were not known to them – approached them.

It will be alleged one of the men struck the 19-year-old to the face with a closed fist, causing the teen to stumble backwards.

The man then removed his shirt and attempted to continue the physical altercation, but the group intervened, and the man ran off along McLean Street.

The 19-year-old suffered facial injuries and nerve damage to his teeth.
