Assault, Shorncliffe

Carseldine detectives have released CCTV in an appeal for information in relation to the investigation into the assault of a man at Shorncliffe on March 29.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 11.10am, a 68-year-old Albany Creek man was walking on the Shorncliffe Pier near Park Parade when a verbal altercation has occurred with a man on an electric bicycle.

A short time later, early information suggests the cyclist approached the 68-year-old again, assaulting him and punching him to the head several times before leaving the scene on the electric bicycle.

He was last seen travelling west on Pier Avenue.

The 68-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries.

The male offender is described as aged between 50 and 55, Caucasian in appearance with a tanned complexion and solid build.

Anyone who recognises the man depicted in the CCTV or had information in relation to this incident is urged to contact police.
