Over the past year, Canadian businesses have navigated a rapidly changing and increasingly fragmented world. One that is more complex, more volatile and, for many, more costly and unpredictable. In response, our country is building a more resilient and diversified economy, and the Government of Canada is helping Atlantic Canadian companies expand into new international markets and strengthen trade beyond traditional partners.

Today, the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, announced federal support to Oceans Advance Inc. to lead a trade mission to Aquaculture UK, one of the United Kingdom's largest trade events for the aquaculture sector ($141,000, non-repayable).

The initiative will help Atlantic Canadian ocean technology companies showcase their solutions to international buyers, build partnerships in the European aquaculture market, and gain the market knowledge needed to grow exports.

Businesses will travel to Glasgow, Scotland, to take part in Aquaculture UK, where they will promote their products and services, connect with potential buyers and partners, and pursue new opportunities in the European aquaculture market. Firms will also be part of a coordinated Atlantic Canadian pavilion, and take advantage of targeted marketing and networking activities.

The mission responds to industry demand for sector-specific opportunities in aquaculture technology and supports the Government of Canada's drive to diversify trade, create new export opportunities, and strengthen Canada's position in global markets.
