Attempted armed robbery charges, Coomera

Three men have been charged with multiple offences following the attempted armed robbery of a Coomera business overnight, Saturday December 17.

Police will allege around 8:20pm, three men entered the Celestial Way business, where one presented a firearm towards staff and demanded money.

The group then damaged several items of property at the business before physically assaulting one of the staff members with the firearm and fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

A short time later, along Yawalpah Way, it will be further alleged that officers intercepted a vehicle matching the description of the offending vehicle and took its three occupants into custody.

During a vehicle search, it will also be alleged that a replica firearm was located.

A 27-year-old Inala man has been charged with stealing, enter premises with intent, attempted armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company.

A 39-year-old Hillcrest man has been charged with stealing, enter premises with intent, attempted armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company.

A 26-year-old Dinmore man has been charged with stealing, enter premises with intent, attempted armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company.

All three men were denied police bail and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday December 19.
