Attempted arson in East Geelong

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted arson in East Geelong last month.

A dark-coloured sedan was travelling along McDonald Street when it stopped next to a white Kia Sportage between 7-7.20pm on 16 June.

An occupant from the vehicle got out and set a small object on fire and placed it under the Kia before driving off.

A neighbour noticed the fire and called 000.

Fire crews attended and extinguished the fire before the car sustained any damage.

Investigators are calling for any witnesses or anyone with footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppervic.com.au.
