Australia Appoints New Ambassador To Croatia 5 July

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Today I announce the appointment of Mr Glenn Morrison as Australia's next Ambassador to Croatia, with non-resident accreditation to Kosovo.

Our countries have strong links, underpinned by a large Croatian diaspora in Australia that enriches our society and supports business, academic and cultural exchanges.

Two-way trade between Australia and Croatia reached around $328 million in 2024, with investment totalling about $67 million, particularly in the retail and tourism sectors.

Our trade and investment links will benefit from a new Double Taxation Agreement. Once in force, the new treaty is expected to strengthen those ties and unlock further opportunities across both economies.

Mr Morrison is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and has previously served overseas in Serbia and Japan.

I thank outgoing Ambassador Richard Rodgers for his contributions to advancing Australia's interests in Croatia since 2023.
