The Australian Government has held an Industry Roundtable today, bringing together aviation stakeholders from across the country to discuss the design and goals of the country's first ever Jet Zero-style Council.
Held at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport in Victoria, the roundtable was attended by government, airline, aviation fuels, finance, research, manufacturing and other aviation industry representatives.
The roundtable is yet another example of the Government's determination to work with industry to ensure a strong and sustainable aviation sector that supports emissions reduction targets on the path to net zero by 2050, while growing jobs and innovation.
The council's work will complement the Aviation White Paper, which will set the scene for the next generation of growth and development across the aviation sector.
One of the paper's priority areas is how to maximise the aviation sector's contribution to achieving net zero carbon emissions, including through sustainable aviation fuel and emerging technologies.
Initial consultation has already started for the White Paper. Interested individuals and organisations can make submissions about any aspect of the Terms of Reference by 10 March 2023.
