OVER 2 MILLION AUSSIE HOUSEHOLDS TO CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH DUMPLINGS

Australians are set to break records this year with more than ten million dumplings to be consumed over the next two weeks in celebration of Chinese New Year.

Beginning today, Australians are being encouraged to enjoy Yum Cha at home with all its creature comforts.

"The humble Chinese dumpling really is becoming a household favourite for Australian families all over the country," said Nancy Chen from Mr Chen's Dumplings.

"The easy, convenience of preparing dumplings at home really has taken off and we are seeing more and more people sharing dumplings for dinner and other celebrations now days," she added.

A Mr Chen's dumpling is consumed every two seconds in Australia.

"Whilst Prawn Hargow is our most popular product, fluffy BBQ Pork Buns, and juicy, slurpy Shanghai Soup Dumplings are hot on their tail. We know that they will be fan favourites in 2021!" said Nancy.

Dumplings are traditionally eaten around Chinese new year to celebrate the changing of years. Their shape is also a symbol of wealth and lucky coins are often hidden inside dumplings. Whoever discovers them is set to get the best of luck and great wealth in the coming year.

There's no need to spend time and money waiting for home-delivery, as Mr Chen's dumplings are available in the freezer section at Woolworths, Coles and independent supermarkets from $7.50, and include vegetarian and gluten free options to choose from.
