Around 10.10pm last night (19 September 2019) police on patrol sighted a white Kia Cerato sedan travelling along Koondoola Avenue in Koondoola. As the vehicle turned onto Butterworth Avenue, police activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to conduct a vehicle stop.
It is alleged the driver of the sedan failed to stop and continued at speed towards Beach Road.
The vehicle continued along various roads before the driver lost control of the sedan on Attra Place in Balga, hitting a power pole causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
The driver, a 15-year-old boy from Balga has been charged with:-
• Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;
• Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (circumstance of aggravation);
• No Authority to Drive (never held); and
• Excess 0.05%.
He is due to appear before the Perth Children's Court on 15 October 2019.
