Bands to Battle at BendiGLOW Youth Fest

YO Events are again proud to present BendiGLOW Youth Fest - a neon, glowing music, art and skate celebration of young people, by young people in Greater Bendigo at Peter Krenz Leisure Centre Basketball Stadium from 2pm - 8pm Saturday September 23, 2023.

This year the BendiGLOW Youth Fest will feature a Battle of the Bands, learn-to-skate workshops, mural painting, glowing circus activities, UV facepainting, market stalls and food trucks.

Battle of the Bands finalists No Gain, Bridie Lynas, Druid, Tarah Frawley, The Chans, Ryan McPartlane and Funky Monkeys will compete to win an awesome prize pack from Bendigo Vinyl and Bendigo Records. The prize includes a professional recording session for one song demo with Bendigo Records, including mixing, mastering, digital publishing and distribution with future royalties paid to the artist, and a live gig which will be professionally recorded at Bendigo Vinyl's soon-to-be new venue in Hargreaves Mall.

Judges for the Battle of the Bands are Sam Edmond from Bendigo Vinyl/Bendigo Records, Colin Thompson, Director of the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival, and Bendigo based singer/songwriter Sherri Parry.

Following the Battle of the Bands headliners Bakers Eddy, supported by Cheap Skate, will turn up the party vibe for the rest of the night. DJs Tonky and Rhys Bull are spinning throughout BendiGLOW Youth Fest and there will be additional sets from HipHopportunities MC's and YO Bandigo.

Attendees will get the chance to create a mural with Mr Dimples on the day and attend a free Public Art Planning Workshop in the leadup to the event. The mural will be designed at the planning workshop and installed on Lyttleton Terrace following BendiGLOW. Registrations for the planning workshop are a must.

Festival goers are asked to dress their neon best and get ready to glow with giveaways and prizes for the best GLOW-fit donated by local businesses. Simply post online using #BendiGLOW to enter.

YO Events is Bendigo's FReeZA team - a fun-loving team of young people creating arts events and experiences. BendiGLOW is supported by FReeZA and Victorian Youth Fest, both Victorian Government initiatives that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, smoke, vape and alcohol-free music and cultural events for other young people. BendiGLOW Youth Fest will be safe and secure with no pass outs.

BendiGLOW Youth Fest will take place 2pm to 8pm Saturday September 23. Tickets are free but donations are welcome to support YO Events Programs.
