How To Place Your Bins For Collection

Wentworth Shire

With three bins now on the kerb, correct placement helps Cleanaway's trucks collect every bin safely and on time.

In urban areas, place bins on the nature strip or footpath 10-100cm from the kerb. In rural areas, place bins 1.5-2m from the edge of the sealed road or graded shoulder.

Which bins go out each week?

  • Lime green Food and Garden Organics bin - every week
  • Yellow Recycling bin and red General Waste bin - alternate fortnights, so one or the other goes out with your green bin each week

Check your area's collection calendar at engage.wentworth.nsw.gov.au/3-bins or https://halvewaste.com.au/

To help the drivers:

  • Put bins out the night before collection - they can be emptied any time between 5am and 9pm
  • Face the wheels and handle towards your property
  • Leave half a metre between each bin
  • Keep at least one metre from power poles, signs, parked cars and other objects, and clear of overhanging trees
  • Close the lid and do not overfill or compact the contents
  • Do not leave extra items beside bins - they cannot be collected

In court bowls, place bins along the straight section of the street. Please do not place bins in the hammer-head end of a street.
