The 2023 Easter long weekend is set to get underway with a bang thanks to the Mildura Rural City Council FReeZA Youth Crew.

The Crew – a youth development program that provides people aged 12 to 25 with opportunities to deliver live music events and other cultural, recreational and artistic events – will present a free Community Outdoor Cinema Evening from 5:30pm on Thursday 6 April in Red Cliffs' Barclay Square.

This alcohol, smoke/vape and drug-free event will feature a concert showcasing young local artists Raya Robb, Alice Siale and Brandon Kitt, before a 7pm screening of family classic The Parent Trap under the stars.

Councillor for Community Health and Wellbeing Troy Bailey encouraged the community to support the youth-led event.

"Our FReeZA Youth Crew has developed an amazing event full of entertainment to kick-off the Easter Long Weekend," he said.

"Those attending are encouraged to grab a quick bite to eat in Red Cliffs before heading to Barclay Square to enjoy fun for the whole family."

Attendees are also encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or something comfortable to sit on, jackets and mosquito repellent.

Free popcorn and Choc Tops will be available, while those attending can also purchase a Red Cliffs Lions donut and enjoy the pop-up glitter bar.
