Bayside Hosts Creative Industries Forum

Bayside Council's second Creative Industries Forum to be held on Thursday 30 July in the Botany Town Hall is designed to bring local artists and creative professionals together and encourage investment in the creative industries.

This free one-day forum includes panel discussions with arts industry professionals, group discussions with local artists, and a tour of Botany's creative precinct.

Following a Welcome to Country by Aunty Lola Bayside Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall will open the forum.

Guest panelists include:

  • Matt Levinson - Committee For Sydney
  • Simon Chan - Director of Art Atrium
  • Erin Taylor - CEO of Australia Plays Transform
  • Gary Bigeni - Fashion Designer
  • Megan Riakos - Filmmaker
  • Lyle Ah Sam -Soul Reign First Nations

The forum will provide valuable insights to help creative professionals living or working in Bayside, including theatre operators, performers and musicians, arts professionals, practicing artists, photographers and graphic designers.

Along with extensive networking opportunities, local artists and industry will be able to connect with and provide feedback to Council.

The day will also include a performance by the Bardwell Valley Ramblers, an acoustic band from Bexley with a blend of traditional folk and country music.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
