The Jelf Medal

  • In 1868 the Reverend Richard Jelf DD retired from the office of Principal of King's College London, which he had held since 1844. It was to commemorate his services to King's College that his colleagues and friends established the endowment of the Jelf Medal.

One medal is awarded to a student in each of the Faculties. The students chosen are those who, in the view of the Principal, have most distinguished themselves during their undergraduate programme.

In making the awards there is regard to the students' academic proficiency but also to their prominence in social and athletic activities.
