Be beach safe during hot weather, SA

If you're hitting the beach to cool down or soak up some sun, keep a watchful eye on your belongings...and the kids, according to SA Police!

Leave any valuables you don't need at home, and take minimal items with you. Consider using a waterproof pouch of armband to secure valuables when you go in the water, or leave your things with a trusted friend.

Rips, currents, waves, drop offs, sand bars, marine stingers, submerged objects, other people and surf craft all pose significant drowning risk. Make smart choices around water, and always swim between the red and yellow flags.

Have a great time at the beach, and don't forget the sunscreen!
