Beat heat this summer on Western Downs

Chill out and cool down this summer as the Western Downs Regional Council, in partnership with Swimfit, brings back the popular regional pool parties from next month.

Residents and visitors are invited to make a splash at five summer pool parties throughout the region during February and March, with an opportunity to tackle exciting giant inflatables and have some fun in the sun.

Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said she was thrilled that the parties were being offered once again and looked forward to seeing residents enjoying themselves at our region's pools.

"Our regional pool parties proved very popular last year, so it's wonderful to see them returning again in 2022. The giant inflatables are always a hit with the kids, while mum and dad get the chance to cool off and relax too," Cr Maguire said.

"Having residents and visitors alike gather to enjoy not only our fantastic local pools, but also to enjoy each other's company as a community is a part of what makes the Western Downs such a vibrant, active place to live and Council is proud to be a part of that.

"On the Western Downs we are fortunate to enjoy wonderful facilities and recreational spaces, where we all can come together, relax, and enjoy what our region has to offer while beating the summer heat, and I encourage residents to head down to their local pool party and share in the fun.

Entry is $2 per person. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, with lifeguards on duty at every event to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe experience.
