Wiley Portfolio to Showcase Research at 2026 Allison Institute Symposium

UT MD Anderson symposium will convene more than 1,500 leading scientists, clinicians, researchers, and innovators to share discoveries, foster collaboration and advance the frontiers of science.

Hoboken, NJ - Wiley's Advanced Portfolio will support scientific exchange and amplify breakthrough research from leading scientists and clinicians in immunology, cancer biology and human health at the 2026 James P. Allison Institute scientific symposium at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Following the theme "Immune Set Points: Stress, Wellness, and System Control," the symposium-taking place on October 30, 2026 at the TMC3 Collaborative Building in the Texas Medical Center's Helix Park-will convene more than 1,500 leading scientists, clinicians, journal editors, research trainees and innovators at the forefront of cancer immunology and immunotherapy research. Their purpose is to share groundbreaking discoveries, foster collaboration, and advance the frontiers of science.

"The Allison Institute scientific symposium represents the kind of interdisciplinary scientific exchange that is essential to advancing our understanding of cancer and human health," said Allyn Molina, group vice president of publishing development at Wiley. "This symposium offers an amazing opportunity to connect research communities and drive forward ideas that can shape the future of health and medicine. Wiley is proud to support this community and the next generation of discoveries."

The Allison Institute was established at UT MD Anderson to advance exceptional discovery, translational and clinical research that integrates immunobiology across disciplines. The institute builds on the legacy of its namesake, James P. Allison, Ph.D. who was awarded the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for fundamental discoveries in T cell biology that led to the invention of ipilimumab, the first immune checkpoint inhibitor to treat cancer. These discoveries helped to launch the field of cancer immunotherapy.

The 2026 program features a plenary keynote from Nobel laureate William G. Kaelin Jr., M.D., scientific sessions across three tracks, a trainee poster session, and a panel featuring six Nobel laureates moderated by TIME Senior Health Correspondent Alice Park.

This symposium coincides with the continuing expansion of Wiley's Advanced Portfolio into life and health sciences, including the recent launches of new journals Advanced Oncology, Advanced Immunology, and Advanced Healthy Aging, disciplines which are central to the symposium's scientific focus.

At the symposium, the Advanced Portfolio will bring its commitment to publishing top-tier science into the room, including:

  • Supporting a dedicated dinner with a guest speaker, bringing the community together for deeper discussion;
  • Fostering awards to recognize emerging scientific talent and honor the rigorous, high-impact research the Advanced journals exist to publish;
  • Supporting an on-site podcast series to carry that same standard into conversation, with leading researchers exploring key themes from the presentations, emerging trends in oncology, immunology and human health, and the scientific questions shaping the next generation of discovery.
