Construction is moving ahead on Beveridge's new retail precinct, Beveridge Village, with the childcare building frame now being installed and the concrete slab for retail spaces being poured.
Located on the eastern corner of Lithgow Street and Mallaig Drive, Beveridge Village will bring 14 new retail shops and a childcare facility to the growing community.
Once complete, the precinct will include a small supermarket, laundromat, barber, and a range of other local services, giving residents more options closer to home and supporting the needs of Beveridge's rapidly expanding population.
Developed by Oreana, Beveridge Village is expected to open in the second quarter of 2026.
A planning permit has also been approved to support the construction of a Coles supermarket on the west side of the corner of Camerons Lane and Patterson Road.
This upcoming store promises convenient access to groceries and everyday essentials and is eagerly anticipated by local residents. The developer is aiming to open the supermarket in the second half of 2026.
Additionally, a planning permit application is currently under consideration for another supermarket, along with fast-food outlets and supporting retail spaces set around a small town square on the east side of Camerons Lane and Patterson Road.
Council is also working with developers and the State and Federal Governments on a range of other projects to support Beveridge's growth, including:
- New roundabouts at Lewis Street/Whiteside Street and Spring Street/Lithgow Street
- Intersection upgrades at the Old Hume Highway and Lithgow Street/Hume Freeway on-ramp
- A full upgrade of Lithgow Street (east of Spring Street) over the next 12 months, delivering bus-capable lanes, footpaths on both sides, and a dedicated cycle lane
- A roundabout at the Hume Freeway ramps and Lithgow Street, expected within 18-24 months subject to approvals
- The expansion of the Greater Beveridge Community Centre, expected to be completed in late 2025.
- A new park at Templemore Road in the Lyra Estate
- Progress on the Camerons Lane Interchange
