Council has prepared our 2026–2027 Draft Operational Plan, which outlines all the work and projects we will undertake for the upcoming financial year.
The plan will be on exhibition on our website from tomorrow until 29 April, and I encourage you to look at the plan and give us your feedback.
This is your chance to view what is planned for your suburb, and even your street, and tell us what you think on an easy-to-use interactive map. Your input helps fine tune our plans.
We have $69.2 million worth of exciting capital works programs proposed for the next financial year. This includes work on the design of an impressive Community and Events Centre at Fairfield Showground, as well as embellishment of open space at Brenan Park, Smithfield; Longfield Park, Cabramatta; and Allambie Park, Bossley Park, among others. These are significant projects that will be here for residents and families to enjoy for decades to come.
Our 'everyday' projects and services are just as important in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community and the liveability of our City. That's why we are investing millions of dollars over the next year in upgrades to roads and transport ($15.8 million); playgrounds, sportsfields and open space ($14.6 million); public buildings ($4.4 million); and new and upgraded footpaths ($2.1 million).
I'm proud of our work over the past few years and we are committed to getting on with the job of providing the best services and facilities for the families and businesses of our thriving City – while also working hard to be financially sustainable and keep our rates low.
