Blind date with book

There are many ways to celebrate Valentine's Day without opening your wallet.

Visit council's reception, the community centres, Hyphen - Wodonga Library Gallery or Bonegilla Migrant Experience and you will find books wrapped in brown paper with a small teaser written on the front.

You won't know what book you have chosen, but that's the point.

Readers are asked to take the wrapped book home, open it and then enjoy reading the book.

Once finished, pass it on to someone close to you or return it to one of the above participating locations.

The Blind Date With A Book program has already been well received within the community, with some lovely comments like: 'What a great idea! Thank you for this innovative gift to the community' and 'Such a beautiful idea'.

Over at Bonegilla Migrant Experience's Facebook page we had messages left that said: 'Our students loved finding your books. Thank you' and 'What a fun and interesting idea'.

The program aims to encourage community members to pick up a book and enjoy the love of reading, while also exploring new book genres.

Get in quick because the books will only be available for collection until February 14.
