Bomb Hoax Charges, Redland Bay And Runcorn

A woman has been charged following investigations into two bomb hoaxes in Brisbane's south last week.

It will be alleged that threatening messages were sent to a Redland Bay childcare centre and a Runcorn high school between 24 and 25 July.

On 25 July, detectives from the Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch charged a 50-year-old Cleveland woman with two counts of making a bomb hoax - falsely inform bomb present.

Police investigations have concluded that the alleged threats were unsubstantiated, and that there was no risk to any children or the community.

Police will further allege the woman was not known to or connected with the centres or school.

The woman was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 28 July.
