Bombala Water Supply Options Study Community Meeting

Snowy Monaro Regional Council (SMRC) held a community meeting in Bombala on Wednesday 3 February 2021 to discuss the Water Supply Options Study for the new Bombala Water Treatment Plant Upgrade.

The meeting was attended by ten members of the Bombala community and four SMRC representatives including; Peter Bascomb (CEO), Jeff Morgan (Chief Operating Officer), Jessica Dunstan (Manager Water Wastewater Operations) and Greg Searle (Water and Wastewater Consultant)

The Water Treatment Plant upgrade has been long anticipated by the Bombala community, but has unfortunately experienced lengthy and unwanted delays outside of Council's control.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the findings of the Water Supply Options Study and the proposed time line for completion of the project (see presentation and study attached).

A question and answer session was also held.

Construction for the upgrade is scheduled to commence in May 2021, continuing for 18 months through to November 2022.

Council understands the importance of this project to the Bombala community.
