Perth fans attending Test match cricket this summer will be vying for the best seat in the house as parts of Perth Stadium will be converted into a new social entertainment area called "The Boundary Beach Club".
Announced at North Fremantle Beach today, The Boundary Beach Club, inspired by Perth's iconic beaches, is tipped to be the perfect spot to enjoy the historic Domain Day-Night Test against New Zealand in December.
Perth restaurant owner and Beach Club ambassador Eamon Sullivan knows only too well the importance of creating a unique environment, where you go the extra mile to create an experience that is new and unexpected for your customers.
"By creating this amazing new space, fans will have the chance to take a dip and relax under umbrellas, while watching some amazing cricket from one of the best locations in the stadium," said Sullivan.
"In my business it's so important to continue to offer a memorable experience that people want to come back to again and again.
The Boundary Beach Club brings the ultimate beach environment to the cricket and has all of the ingredients to boost that match day experience for more fans in a unique environment never been seen before by West Australians."
To help celebrate today's announcement, WA and Australian cricketers, Mitch Marsh, Jhye Richardson and Ashton Agar were joined by local Woolworths Cricket Blast kids for a game of beach cricket.
Test cricket in Perth this summer is going to be huge said Marsh.
"Not only are we playing our rivals across the ditch in Perth's first ever Day-Night Test, some lucky fans get to watch the game from a beach club. I think that would be an unbelievable experience," he said.
"What I love about The Boundary Beach Club is the ability to add another level of excitement and hopefully attract new fans to our great game," said Marsh.
Cricket Australia Executive General Manager of Fan Engagement Anthony Everard said The Boundary Beach Club has been designed to add a new dimension to a day at the cricket and spark interest and conversations across an experience Western Australians haven't been exposed to before.
"Watching a live cricket match is a great social day out with friends or family. This year we're proud to be bringing something extra special to Perth; offering the ultimate West Aussie summer experience, with water at your feet, sitting under an umbrella watching the best of the best playing Test cricket," he said.
Entry to The Boundary Beach Club will be by way of pre-match promotions or at match upgrades and fan's will be able to experience The Beach Club for a two-hour session. The Beach Club is 14 metres long and will be built across three bays of Perth Stadium and can hold up to 100 people per session.
