Yarra Park will come alive during the NRMA Insurance Boxing Day Test Match with a free four-day festival ensuring the fun and excitement of one of Melbourne's premier events spills beyond the MCG.
From 26-29 December 2025, Yarra Park will be buzzing with live performers and music, including local DJs, bars and food trucks offering some of Melbourne's renowned cuisine.
There will also be plenty of family-friendly activities, including games and giveaways and interactive cricket zones where would-be stars can test themselves with hands-on skill challenges right outside one of the world's great stadiums.
Importantly, as Australia takes on England in the hugely anticipated NRMA Insurance Ashes Series, fans can follow all the action on the big screens positioned around the festival.
The Boxing Day Test Summer Festival is an exciting feature of an iconic occasion with local and visiting fans celebrating everything they love about cricket and summer outside the MCG in Yarra Park.
Hon Steve Dimopolous MP, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events said:
"This summer, the excitement won't be limited to the MCG – the Summer Fest will bring entertainment and activities for fans of all ages."
"The Boxing Day Test is one of the most iconic days on the global sporting calendar, and we're proud to have secured it to stay at the MCG."
"Victoria is Australia's major events capital. We saw record crowds at last year's Boxing Day Test and we're looking forward to seeing visitors flock to the 'G again."
Nick Reece, City of Melbourne Lord Mayor said:
"Melbourne is the sporting capital of Australia, and there's no place quite like the mighty MCG during an Ashes Boxing Day Test Match."
"Yarra Park will be transformed into a festival of fun for the Boxing Day Test Summer Fest - the ultimate place for fans to follow the action, soak up the atmosphere and have a wicket good time."
