Brazil Inks CPF for 2025-2030

Mr Francisco Rondinelli Junior, President of Brazil's National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN), and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Brazil's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2025-2030 on 18 September 2025. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Brazil has been an IAEA Member State since 1957. Its 2025-2030 CPF identifies the following priority areas:

  1. Radiation protection and nuclear safety
  2. Food and agriculture
  3. Health and nutrition
  4. Water and environment
  5. Energy
  6. Research reactor
  7. Industrial applications
