119 projects across Queensland are already being supported under the Games On! program, following a decade of underinvestment by the former Labor Government.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Government was delivering for grassroots sporting clubs.
"The Crisafulli Government is delivering the Games that Queenslanders deserve, and we are backing sports clubs across Queensland to ensure there is a legacy that lasts beyond the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games," Minister Mander said.
"I was at the club when we committed to delivering these lights, and I am so pleased they have been turned on for the start of the new AFL season."
Member for Hervey Bay David Lee said the lighting upgrades would be a gamechanger for the community.
"This club has been an important part of the community here for nearly 50 years and is an absolute success story both on and off the field," Mr Lee said.
"They've delivered premiership after premiership, for both men and women, and junior numbers are on the rise.
"The Hervey Bay Bombers are integral in encouraging more members of the community to get out, be active and take part in organised sport.
Hervey Bay Bombers President Danny Meldrum said the new lights will see more locals get involved in sport.
"We want to be able to field more and more teams, and having the capacity for night training and games allows us greater capacity to do that," Mr Meldrum said.
"This will make an enormous difference for our club and I'd like to thank the Queensland Government for its support through the Games On! program."
