Broken Hill City Council has announced that the Broken Hill City Art Gallery will host Waste 2 Art Broken Hill 2026, a much-loved community art competition that challenges participants to transform waste and recycled materials into creative artworks.

Before entries open, the Gallery is calling on Far West NSW businesses to support the program through sponsorship, with sponsorships needing to be finalised by Monday 2 March 2026 to ensure inclusion in promotional material.

Gallery and Museum Manager Kathy Graham said sponsorship plays a vital role in delivering the program.

"Waste 2 Art is a wonderful example of creativity and sustainability coming together within our community. The program encourages people of all ages to think differently about waste while showcasing their creativity in a public exhibition," Ms Graham said.

"Local business sponsorship is essential in helping us deliver the competition, support prize categories and present the exhibition at the highest possible standard. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our Far West business community."

Sponsorship options are available at:

  • $100 - Supporter
  • $300 - Category Sponsor (sponsorship of one award category)
  • $500 - Major Sponsor (sponsorship of two award categories with prime logo placement and priority acknowledgement)

Full details on sponsorship tiers and acknowledgement levels are available online. Sponsorship payment can be submitted securely via the Gallery website.
