Budget 2026: Common Sense Wins For NZ First

NZ First Party

We're a nationalist party and that means we want a stronger nation.

Stronger borders and backing our first responders

$70.7 million for border security - beefing up customs equipment to better combat organised crime and illicit drug activity

$18 million to combat migrant exploitation - more labour inspectors to respond to serious offending and more investigations and compliance needed

$50 million for frontline policing

$35 million for Road Ambulance Services to support ambulance professionals to do their job and boost frontline ambulance crews

Looking after our young and old

$34 million of funding for birthing units, maternity care and three-day postnatal stays

$69 million to double the number of Trades Academy places, providing free trades training for year 11 to 13 students

$87 million for 1,000 more Youth Guarantee places - we want every one of our young people to have the skills, education, and opportunity to get into work. This policy targets young people with no or low qualifications.

Building our nation's resilience

$150 million for additional strategic fuel reserves to firm up New Zealand's fuel resilience
