The Allan Labor Government is continuing to build more social housing homes across Gippsland for families who need them.
Minister for Housing and Building Harriet Shing visited brand new social housing townhouses in Traralgon that is being prepared for tenants to move in, as work continues to deliver new and upgraded homes for people in need including additional new homes across Moe and Sale.
Across Gippsland, hundreds of new social housing homes for people on the Housing Register have been delivered under a range of programs including the $6.3 billion Big Housing Build and Regional Housing Fund.
All of the homes being built are bright, modern, accessible and energy efficient, and located close to jobs, services, parks and open spaces, transport and schools.
In addition to this, work is underway to deliver a mix of social, private market, and affordable housing at English Street in Morwell as part of the Olearia development.
The Labor Government's landmark $6.3 billion Big Housing Build and Regional Housing Fund are delivering more than 13,300 social and affordable homes right across Victoria - with more than 11,100 of these homes already complete or underway.
As stated by Minister for Housing and Building Harriet Shing
"Every Victorian deserves access to a safe and secure home that they can be proud to call their own, which is why we're building thousands of new homes all over the state - including in Gippsland."
"The delivery of more new and upgraded housing, including in Traralgon, Morwell, Moe and Sale, is an essential part of tackling homelessness and delivering real solutions for vulnerable Victorians."
"The Olearia development in Morwell will be a well-planned and connected community that provides more families with the opportunity to find a home in the heart of the Valley."
