Bungling Broadmeadows burglars

Detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit are hoping to identify three men following a burglary in Broadmeadows last month.

Investigators have been told the men attended the Pascoe Vale Road shopping centre about 4.10am on 13 May.

They made a number of attempts to jemmy open a door before eventually gaining entry and heading towards a jewellery business.

The men attempted to smash a display window before fleeing empty handed after triggering an alarm.

All three fled in a silver Volkswagen Golf that was displaying false number plates.

Detectives have released images of three men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man is perceived to be Asian in appearance, aged in his 30s with a pony tail.

The second man is also perceived to be Asian in appearance, aged in his 30s or 40s.

The third man is perceived to be Mediterranean or Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his 30s.

Investigators have also released images of the car, which has distinctive panel damage to a rear door, in the hope that someone may recognise it.

Anyone with information or who recognises the trio is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
