Bunjil Place Plaza Transforms With Free Outdoor Event

Bunjil Place is gearing up to host its biggest free outdoor event ever, with Open Space launching this week. Open Space is set to become a new summer Saturday night ritual for the Casey community.

Kicking off from Saturday 7 February to Saturday 21 March 2026, Open Space will take place every Saturday from 6:00 pm, transforming the Bunjil Place Plaza into a vibrant outdoor hub of live music, cultural performances and open-air cinema.

The seven-week program features an outstanding lineup of Australian talent, including Kutcha, Cash and the Last Drinks, Pseudo Echo, Cookin' on 3 Burners with Stella Angelico, Andrew Swift and Wild Gloriosa, alongside cultural highlights such as internationally acclaimed veena virtuoso Hari Sivanesan, a breathtaking Lion Dance on Poles, and the screening of cult classic 1955 sci-fi horror film Tarantula.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said Open Space is a major celebration of community, culture and connection.

"Open Space is exactly the kind of bold, inclusive initiative our community deserves. To be able to deliver an event of this scale, completely free and in the heart of Casey, is something Council is incredibly proud of," he said.

"The lineup showcases an exceptional range of talent, from legendary Australian performers to exciting contemporary artists and world-class cultural acts. With something different on offer each week, Open Space invites people to discover new music, new cultures and new experiences."

"With no ticket costs, Open Space ensures everyone can take part. Families, young people, and visitors from across Casey and greater Melbourne can simply show up, relax and enjoy high-quality night of entertainment together"

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic rug, enjoy food trucks on site or pack their own dinner, and settle in for a relaxed evening under the stars.

Open Space is free to attend, with no tickets required.
