Burning Question: story of bushfire hazard mitigation in Queensland

A new documentary produced by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) that explains bushfire hazard mitigation in Queensland was launched today.

The Burning Question tells the story of bushfire mitigation in Queensland, outlining the science, the challenges, and the changing world of bushfire mitigation.

The documentary calls on people from QFES, the Bureau of Meteorology, Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation and the Inspector General of Emergency Management to explain the practices and strategies of bushfire mitigation in Queensland, weather and climate factors that guide the implementation of bushfire mitigation methods, traditional and emerging burning practices and what Queenslanders can do to combat bushfire risk on their own land.

It highlights the fantastic work undertaken by QFES personnel, working with our partners and stakeholders across all levels of government and within Queensland communities during Operation Cool Burn.
