Bushfire survivors: Victorian Government must act on climate to protect communities

Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action

BUSHFIRE SURVIVORS WILL TODAY call on the Victorian State Government to commit to a strong interim emissions reduction target to protect communities from worsening bushfires driven by climate change.

Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action will hold a media event today on the steps of Victorian State Parliament to demand that the State Government commit to an emissions reduction target that is compliant with keeping within 1.5 degrees of global heating.

They're calling on Victoria to act decisively to protect communities from catastrophic fire danger, and to show leadership on climate in the absence of meaningful Federal action.
