Man Dies After Rescue From Mid North Coast Waters

A man has died after being pulled from the water on the state's Mid North Coast today.

About 1.45pm (Sunday 20 September 2026), emergency services were called to Saltwater Beach, Saltwater, about 18km south east of Taree, following reports three people were in trouble in the water.

Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District attended, alongside Surf Lifesavers and three men - all aged in their 20s - were removed from the water.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated all three men, however, one could not be revived.

The other two men were taken to Manning Base Hospital for treatment.

Police have commenced an investigation into the incident, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
