Cafe damaged by fire at Urunga

Police are investigating a fire which damaged a café on the North Coast overnight.

Emergency services were called to Bellingen Street, Urunga, about 30km south of Coffs Harbour, about 6.30pm (Monday 3 May 2021), and found the business well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the building sustained significant damage, estimated to be more than $250,000.

A crime scene was established by officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District and inquiries are now underway into the cause of the fire.
