Small businesses and entrepreneurs are being invited to activate Fremantle's popular coastal locations this winter.
An expression of interest process is now open, and the City of Fremantle will be awarding six-month winter trading permits for leisure and tourism-focused ventures that are aligned with the seasonal trading guiding principles.
The City is seeking new seasonal attractions across locations including South Beach, Bathers Beach, Port Beach, and near the WA Shipwrecks.
What are we looking for?
- Sustainable businesses that are self-sufficient with power, water, and waste.
- Trading that focusses on leisure/recreation activity.
- Suitable businesses that fill a gap in the market and enhance the visitor experience.
- Businesses that align with the City of Fremantle's brand values of spirit, soul and sea.
What are we not looking for?
- Food and beverage businesses- there is a separate food vehicle application.
- Businesses that will directly compete with established businesses in the local area.
The new ventures must meet certain criteria including being environmentally sustainable, complementing Fremantle's character, filling a gap in the market and not competing with surrounding established businesses.
Winter trading dates are 1 May to 31 October 2026.
The EOI process is open and closes on Sunday 1 March.
