Campaspe Libraries Mark Library & Info Week

Campaspe Library Service is excited to announce a calendar jam-packed with events in the next few weeks.

Kicking things off, the Echuca Library will host live musical performances during the Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival this weekend.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Mayor Daniel Mackrell, said that this was a fantastic example of how libraries continue to evolve as dynamic cultural spaces.

"Libraries are places where people come together - to learn something new, or simply connect with others. Hosting performances during the Winter Blues Festival is a great way to welcome the community and celebrate local talent in a relaxed, friendly setting," Cr Mackrell said

The following week libraries across Campaspe will celebrate Library and Information Week 2025 from 28 July until 3 August. This annual event shines a spotlight on the essential role libraries play in empowering communities through access to information, digital inclusion, and lifelong learning opportunities.

Cr Mackrell said Library and Information Week is a chance for the community to discover everything their local library has to offer.

"From early literacy programs to tech help and cultural events, our libraries are here to support everyone. This week is about celebrating the people and services that help build a more informed and connected community," said the Mayor.

This year's theme, "To Read or Not to Read: Literacy Matters", addresses the complexities and barriers that Australians may face in developing their literacy skills, including limited access to books and technology, new kinds of literacies, and socioeconomic factors. This Library and Information week highlights the ways in which libraries work towards minimising these barriers for our communities.
