The Glow Up Youth Disco, held on Friday 14 November at Fuzion Café, was a huge success, attracting just over 100 young people aged 12 to 17 for a night of music, activities and celebration. The event was initiated and delivered by the Campaspe Youth Action Group (YAG) as part of its commitment to creating fun, safe and inclusive opportunities for local young people.

The high-energy night featured a DJ setting the vibe for dancing, friendly competitions including Just Dance and limbo with plenty of prizes to giveaway. Young people also enjoyed a 360 photo booth and face painting, creating a vibrant atmosphere inside the packed venue.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell how important these types of events are for youth in regional communities.

"Bringing young people together in a safe, welcoming space is so important for regional towns. Events like this give teens a chance to connect and feel part of their community." Cr Mackrell said.

Support from Youth Affairs Council Victoria, Thorne Harbour Health and headspace Echuca helped ensure the night was welcoming, safe and well resourced, offering mental wellbeing information and support in a youth-friendly setting.

"One of the best parts of the night was seeing everyone so happy, confident and connected," said a YAG spokesperson. "Our team wanted to create a space where young people could simply have fun and feel supported, and the response was incredible."

The Glow Up Youth Disco was a fully supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke free event designed to encourage positive social connection and give local young people a chance to experience an event shaped by their own peers. The event was proudly funded by Amplify and the Victorian Government.
