The popular Festival of Fisher's Ghost will return from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 8 November with an expanded program of community events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the event and the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Fred Fisher's body and reported ghost sighting.
This year's program will feature annual community favourites and introduce signature anniversary events, including Fisher's Cup, the Footsteps of Fred self-guided walking tour, and a Drone Show, in addition to a special Fisher's Ghost Parade to celebrate the anniversary.
"The Festival of Fisher's Ghost is Campbelltown's biggest annual celebration, bringing together a local legend that has existed for over two centuries with an exciting program of events that embrace the long history and community pride here in Campbelltown," Mayor Darcy Lound said.
"I'm thrilled to see our anniversary events offer even more opportunities to get involved this year, with the Fisher's Ghost Parade bringing together community groups, sporting clubs, businesses and organisations alongside exciting new ways to relive the history of Fisher's Ghost," Cr Lound said.
"I encourage everyone to join us for what is shaping up to be a significant anniversary milestone for our beloved annual event," he said.
Fisher's Twilight Streets is funded over three years through a $350,000 grant from the NSW Government's Open Streets Program 2025-28, led by Transport for NSW.
"Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. As this event highlights, we can use our streets to bring communities together and drive revenue for local businesses," Minister for Transport John Graham said.
"Since coming to office the Minns Labor Government has been working hard to bring more fun back to Sydney after a decade of lockouts, lockdowns and overregulation," Mr Graham said.
"Cutting red tape and supporting these 240 events across NSW, like Fisher's Twilight Streets, are a key part of that agenda," he said.
Celebrations will begin on Thursday 29 October with the opening night of the iconic Fisher's Ghost Carnival at Campbelltown Showground.
The carnival will feature amusement rides, sideshow games, and food stalls until Sunday 8 November, with fireworks displays at 9pm on Saturday 31 October and Saturday 7 November.
The Fisher's Ghost Parade will be held on Saturday 31 October from 2pm, featuring community-designed floats, vehicles and walking groups travelling through Queen Street towards Mawson Park.
Fisher's Twilight Streets will then kick off celebrations at Mawson Park and across Queen Street, Lithgow Street and Cordeaux Street in Campbelltown from 3pm, featuring market stalls, roving performers, live entertainment and kids' activities on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.
Music lovers are encouraged to vote for their favourite performers at the centre stage on Saturday night, as shortlisted local bands and musicians compete in the final round of Fisher's Gig from 4pm.
A special evening drone show will light up the night sky from 8pm on Saturday 31 October and Saturday 7 November, featuring imagery inspired by the legend and history of Fisher's Ghost.
On Sunday 1 November, Fred's Treat Trail will invite local children and families to dress up and explore participating CBD businesses between 3pm and 6pm, collecting special treats along the way by following a trail map as part of the Halloween and Fisher's Ghost Festival celebrations.
Fisher's Cup will introduce a series of athletics and sporting challenges at Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Athletics Centre on Saturday 7 November, with family-friendly fun to enjoy from 8am.
The popular Fisher's Ghost Fun Run will return to Western Sydney University and TAFE campuses on Sunday 8 November, offering 5km and 10km courses from 8am to 12pm.
Footsteps of Fred will bring the history of Fisher's Ghost to Campbelltown city centre, with a self-guided storytelling trail and map connecting key locations associated with the legend throughout the festival.
Art lovers can also visit Campbelltown Arts Centre, where a selection of Fisher's Ghost Art Award finalists will be exhibited from 26 September to 4 December.
Fisher's Kids will offer local kids the chance to get involved in hands-on art activities and workshops at Campbelltown Arts Centre on Saturday 7 November, from 3pm to 7.30pm.
