"Street fights, park fights, public shaming, property trashing, stomach pumping, general untold carnage and the odd police visit. That's what readers of THREE WILD DOGS and the truth can expect," says Samantha Fenton.
The coordinator of Eurobodalla Libraries says acclaimed writer Markus Zusak's new memoir combines pure comedy with shocking tragedy, told with exquisite tenderness, and she's thrilled to welcome Zusak to Eurobodalla next month.
"His novels are cherished the world over and we're looking forward to learning more about the creation of this hilarious and poignant memoir," Ms Fenton says.
One of Australia's most lauded storytellers, Zusak is an international bestselling author of six novels; The Book Thief shot him to prominence, making the New York Times bestseller list for more than a decade.
THREE WILD DOGS and the truth follows the tales – and tails – of the Zusak family as they open their home to three big, pound-hardened dogs. Reuben is the wolf-at-the-door with a hacksaw grin, Archer is blonde and beautiful (and deadly), while the rancorous Frosty walks like a rolling thunderstorm.
"I can not wait to hear the stories behind the story," Ms Fenton says.
Zusak will be at the at Batemans Bay library from 5.30pm on Wednesday 24 September for another free author talk in Eurobodalla Libraries' ongoing program featuring locally, nationally and internationally acclaimed writers.
"It's gratifying to see the community respond so positively to our 2025 program of visiting authors, with the likes of crime queen Margaret Hickey and award-winning Sofie Laguna proving particularly popular," Ms Fenton says.
"Those coming to see Markus can expect lively discussion with plenty of opportunity for questions. We'll have evening refreshments and, of course, books signed by the author available to purchase."
Bookings essential through Eurobodalla Libraries events webpage or contact Batemans Bay Library on 4472 5850.
