Car struck by train in Blayney

A man received minor injuries after his car was struck by a train near Blayney in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

About 11.50am today (Sunday 9 December 2018), an XPT passenger train was travelling towards Orange when it struck the front of a Subaru station wagon at a level crossing on Greghamstown Road.

The driver of the Subaru, a 69-year-old man, received lacerations to his legs and chest pains.

He was taken to Orange Base Hospital for treatment.

None of the 122 passengers on the train were injured.

Police from Chifley Police District continue with inquiries into the incident.
