Detectives from Cobram Crime Investigation Unit charged a man following the seizure of handguns, drugs and ammunition from Numurkah and Trafalgar yesterday.
As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives executed search warrants at a business on Station Street along with a property on Melville Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police seized an array of ammunition, firearms and drugs from the locations including a loaded homemade handgun.
With the assistance from the Critical Incident Response Team, a man was arrested at the Station Street business and taken back to a police station.
Detectives then executed a third search warrant at a property in Centenary Drive where they located further ammunition.
A 49-year-old Trafalgar man has been charged with multiple offences including:
• prohibited person possess a firearm
• prohibited person possess imitation firearm.
• possess drug of dependence
• possess ammunition
He has been remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates' Court today.
