Charges following Ascot Vale and Essendon aggravated burglaries

Police have arrested and charged two males in relation to two alleged aggravated burglaries this morning, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged a number of males entered a St Leonards Road home in Ascot Vale about 4.30am and were disturbed by the occupants.

Keys were stolen and the offenders left in a vehicle. No one was physically injured during the incident.

About an hour later a second aggravated burglary took place at an address in Essendon.

It is alleged two males gained entry to the Lorraine Street house about 5.30am.

Various items were alleged to have been stolen including phones, purses and the occupant’s vehicle which they drove off in.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 17-year-old male from Burnside Heights and a 15-year-old male from Kurunjang have been charged with home invasion and theft of motor vehicle.

Both have been remanded to appear in a children’s court at a later date.
