Charges - Hydroponic cannabis - Katherine

Northern Territory Police have charged two people after finding a hydroponic cannabis set up as well as ammunition and fireworks in Katherine.

Yesterday afternoon police in Katherine executed a search warrant and discovered two tents in the main bedroom of a residence which were being utilised as hydroponic grow tents. Eight mature cannabis plants were inside the tents, Northern Territory Police say

During a further search of the residence police located and seized:

6 harvested cannabis plants;

347 grams of cannabis plant material;

3 grams of cannabis seeds;

Hydroponic grow equipment and associated chemicals;

A quantity of unsecured ammunition; and

A quantity of fireworks.

A 47-year-old female was issued a notice to appear in Katherine Local Court for:

Cultivate Prohibited Plant – Traffickable Quantity;

Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug – Traffickable Quantity;

Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug;

Possess Ammunition Without Licence;

Fail to Meet Storage Requirements – Ammunition; and

Possess Fireworks Outside Approved Period.

A 25-year-old man has also been issued a notice to appear in Katherine Local Court for:

Cultivate Prohibited Plant – Traffickable Quantity;

Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug – Traffickable Quantity; and

Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug.

Both are scheduled to appear on 25 October 2018.
