One child has died and two other children and a woman are in a critical condition after a stabbing in the Blue Mountains today.
About 12.45pm (Sunday 20 September 2026), emergency services responded to reports of three children and a woman suffering from stab wounds in a vehicle on Waratah Road, Valley Heights.
Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command have been informed that several members of the public performed first aid on the woman and three children whilst contacting Triple Zero.
One of the children was located deceased in the vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the two children and the woman at the scene before they were conveyed to Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital. All three are listed as being in a critical condition.
The children are believed to be under five years of age, and the woman is in her 40s. Identities are yet to be confirmed.
A crime scene has been established, and police are not looking for any other people at this time.
